Expanded Teflon™ PTFE Gaskets
Best Quality Expanded PTFE Gaskets
Frequently used in gas and oil applications, EPTFE Gaskets are a resilient gasket solution that is resistant to mechanical abuse, chemical attack, and extreme temperatures.
Gaskets are available in a wide range of sizes, thicknesses, and diameters for specific applications. These gaskets can be manufactured to meet the application and installation requirements determined by a customer. Typically made of either rigid or soft rubber, these sealing gaskets are used on I.D. or O-ring seal applications in critical environments such as chemical, food processing, semiconductor, pharmaceuticals, and automotive applications.
EPTFE Gaskets are resistant to harsh chemical and food processing environments such as acids, bases, alkalis, petroleum hydrocarbons, salts, oils, solvents, heat, and chemicals. Additionally, these products can withstand temperatures from -40 to 230°F (-40 to 110°C) as well as many other extreme environmental conditions.
Gaskets are available in a variety of sizes and materials to provide the proper seal at a given process. This selection can be determined by your specific application.
EPTFE Joint Sealant
Our current EPTFE Joint Sealant is a product that will seal any joint, even under a vacuum. It is engineered specifically to handle the mechanical wear associated with high-pressure water lines. The sealed pipe joint is the strongest point, and our sealant helps to ensure that it doesn’t fail even when abused.
EPTFE Gaskets Application
Stabilize Pump and Gear Housing: PTFE gaskets are a popular choice for pump and gear housing modification due to their unique characteristics. They have shown capability in preventing ingress of water into the bearing area, resulting in the reduction of corrosion further down inside the case.
Prevent Transfer of Grit into Gearbox from Outside: This is one of the PTFE gasket applications that has been widely applied before now, and its benefits are widely recognized by all types of gearboxes. The gasket allows the instrumentation to be removed quickly to conduct various maintenance tasks and to service. The PTFE keeps grit and contaminants out yet allows easy access for a routine inspection. When running machinery in harsh, dirty environments, PTFE gaskets can help prevent grit and debris from entering your system.
Improve Coupling efficiency: In the chemical/petrochemical industry, PTFE gaskets improve the efficiency of rotating equipment through a process called “coupled pump/tank transfer.” It consists of connecting a pump from a petrochemical plant to a tank for transportation. However, the liquid and gas transfer systems do not have a common seal. Therefore, PTFE gaskets are necessary for this application due to their superior performance or strength in providing the required watertight and gas-tight seal.
Prevent Ingress of Corrosive Fluids into Seals: As PTFE gaskets are impervious to gases and vapors that can cause corrosion, they have been found to be excellent in preventing the ingress of corrosive fluids into seals. Seals in any machinery are an essential part that offers protection against foreign materials entering the machine. However, with the continuous use of harsh chemicals and alkaline solutions on these seals, it is not uncommon for them to deteriorate over time.
